About Me: Corynn Gates

I was born and raised in the warm city of Phoenix, Arizona. I attended Butler University, located in Indianapolis, Indiana. At Butler University, I double majored in Strategic Communications and International Studies, with a minor in Studio Art. I was a member of the speech and debate team, the model UN team, and I worked at the Butler University HRC as a fitness instructor. I taught cycling and a format called yoga strength, which included a potion purely dedicated to yoga and stretching, with another portion that focused on HIIT and strength training. At this time, I was also coaching the Veritas Preparatory Mock Trial Team over Zoom, along with many other fantastic coaches.

My senior year of high school, I was the captain and participating assistant coach of the Veritas Mock Trial Team. I also participated in the American Legion Oratorical Competition. The summer of 2022, I taught a studio art course at Veritas Preparatory Academy, interned with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, and interned at the Maricopa County Superior Court. While working for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, I ran one of the Supervisors social media accounts and read through the thousands of emails that were released from Karen Fan’s possession. I also read the court reports from the numerous trials that regarded the supervisors.
